Judging Criteria
For the Grow Me The Money Awards, the judging panel will look for Action Plans that are innovative, realistic and achievable. Judges will consider if the implementation of this Action Plan would make your business a leader in its field and whether other businesses would aspire to recreate your Action Plan within their own business.
A business can show innovation in a number of ways, including:
- Individual actions that are original in their industry, or an example of ‘thinking outside the square’ to achieve the action identified.
- The Action Plan shows innovation in its holistic approach to business sustainability by including actions with improved environmental and financial returns, as well as actions around staff, customers and the community.
- A business has considered opportunities beyond the ‘usual’ actions and identified their own industry-specific, innovative actions that if implemented will lead to significant resource savings or increase in staff morale. (Staff engagement in the action planning process motivates them to be part of your business’s environmental journey).
Whilst the judges will be looking for innovation in Action Plans, they still need to be practical and achievable with a focus on results.
All Action Plans need to fit the Grow Me The Money criteria. Please include at least six actions to be implemented within a specified timeframe. At least three of these actions must be measurable. Businesses must have measured their baseline resource use (energy, water and/or waste as relevant) before entering their Action Plan into the competition.
