Who is Grow Me The Money designed to help?

This program is designed for small to medium sized businesses, operating in regional or metropolitan areas.

Many businesses are conscious of their environmental footprint and are eager to begin implementing environmentally friendly practices but aren't sure where to start. Grow Me The Money guides small to medium sized businesses through the steps necessary to become more sustainable and benefit from their efforts.

Grow Me The Money is best suited to businesses that have access to their energy and water bills and have been operating for at least 12 months.

Who is behind Grow Me The Money?

Grow Me The Money has been developed in partnership with the Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) and Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA Victoria) under a Sustainability Covenant.

VECCI is Victoria's most influential employer group, servicing over 15,000 Victorian businesses per annum. An independent, non-government body, VECCI was started by the business community to represent business.

Environment Protection Authority Victoria's purpose is to protect, care for and improve our environment.

Victorian small to medium sized businesses have been participating in Grow Me The Money since April 2007.

Meet the team

Erin Simpson is VECCI Sustainability Services Manager. Erin joined VECCI in April 2007 and manages the small Grow Me The Money team that helps small-to-medium businesses improve their resource efficiency, as well as VECCI’s sustainability training services. Erin began her environmental career with the Louisville Air Pollution Control District before moving to Australia, where she's also worked with the environmental management team of the Department of Human Services, conducted research on environmental change management issues within organisations and delivers training for the Monash Sustainability Institute's Green Steps program.

Roberta Mascitti is the Marketing Coordinator for VECCI’s Centre for Innovation and Sustainability Excellence. Roberta coordinates and assists in the marketing and brand management for Grow Me The Money and Carbon Down. With over six years experience working with non for profit organisations, Roberta has completed study on Direct and Digital marketing and also completed a Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment.

Liam Henderson is a Grow Me The Money Business Support Officer and specialises in energy and carbon issues. As well as completing Bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Social Science (Environmental Studies) from RMIT University, he also has experience as an environmental consultant for small to medium businesses and as a researcher in the field of sustainability education. Liam has an in depth understanding of business sustainability issues and extensive knowledge in the areas of organisational change as well as energy efficiency and carbon management.

Bob Fynan joined VECCI in 2005 and began working with Grow Me The Money in late 2007. As a Grow Me The Money Business Support Officer, Bob works with participating businesses to improve their resource efficiency and lower their environmental impact. His area of expertise is waste management and reduction, but he is also experienced in carbon management and behaviour change for workplace sustainability.

Olivia Tattam is a Grow Me The Money Business Support Officer, specialising in water issues. Olivia joined the program in 2008 to assist businesses in the program achieve their sustainability goals. Olivia has previously worked with small to medium businesses across Victoria, assessing their workplace environmental sustainability. She holds a Bachelor of Conservation Ecology from Deakin University and recently graduated from a Masters of Social Science (Environment and Planning) from RMIT University.
